Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Myranda Steingraeber is a resident physician at Albany Family Medicine in Albany, NY. She attended college at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, where she studied neuroscience and minored in German and psychology. After college, Dr. Steingraeber worked as a special education aid during summer school and as a research assistant at the New York Center for Agriculture and Health. When she got to medical school at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY, her interests included developmental disorders, health literacy, rural medicine, addiction medicine, and mental health. However, the more she learned, the more she was interested in family medicine. Family medicine allows her to keep learning so she can respond to the needs of her patients and enables her to know patients for more than just their conditions. Dr. Steingraeber feels honored and humbled to be able to help individuals and families grow over time and work with them through the highs and lows of life. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, hiking, playing board games, quilting, baking, jogging, and painting. She says, “In life, as in medicine, there’s always more to learn!”
