Biography

Dr. Carlos Elguero is the Clinical Vice Chair, Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Albany Medical College, Assistant Residency Director, and Director of Geriatrics for the Family Medicine Residency program.  He is the Medical Director of the residency practice, Albany Family Medicine, where he focuses on operations and quality improvement. He additionally serves on the Quality and Electronic Health Records Committee for Community Care Physicians. Dr. Elguero completed his Family Medicine Residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He completed his MD degree from Ross University in Dominica.  He enjoys practicing in an urban setting and serving a diverse patient population, in addition to inpatient hospital medicine and long-term care. In prior years, he was fortunate to travel to Uganda for medical relief and serve on the board as the Medical Director of the Engeye Health Clinic. He also served and participated as a county delegate for the New York State Academy of Family Physicians and continues to be involved in his local chapter. He has received numerous awards for medical student and residency education.
