Dr. Mary Okoh is a resident physician at Albany Family Medicine in Albany, NY. She attended SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY, where she studied biology and chemistry. During and after college, she worked as an EMT. Dr. Okoh loved the connections she made with patients and knew she wanted to pursue a career where she could further those connections. She then attended medical school at the American University of Antigua in Antigua and Barbuda. During this time, she found herself drawn to maternal health and health education/preventative medicine. A multitude of factors drove Dr. Okoh’s decision to specialize in family medicine. One of the key reasons was the breadth of the field, which aligns with her diverse interests in women’s health, adolescent health, and emergency medicine. Equally important was the opportunity to foster close relationships with her patients, allowing her to provide personalized care that respects their unique circumstances and values. Originally from Beacon, NY, Dr. Okoh enjoys the comforts of home, indulging in activities like organizing, interior design, and cooking. She also values her time with friends and family and finds relaxation in catching up on shows from various streaming platforms.
