Originally from Amsterdam New York, Dr. Decker obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor from SUNY Oneonta while competing as a track and field athlete before obtaining her MD with Distinction in Research from Albany Medical College. Between undergraduate studies and medical school, she worked as a Nurse Assistant at Boston Medical Center and as a Research Technician at Albany Medical College, experiences that strengthened her passion for patient care and academic medicine.
Dr. Decker was drawn to Family Medicine because of its strong foundation in community, the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients, and the ability to help patients achieve their individual health goals across all stages of life. She values the broad scope of family medicine and enjoys continuously learning while caring for a diverse patient population. She is committed to providing compassionate, full-spectrum, patient-centered care with specific clinical interests in women’s health, prenatal care and obstetrics, adolescent health, and addiction medicine. Additional passions include patient advocacy, addressing healthcare disparities, and advancing equitable care for underserved communities. Her care philosophy centers on building trusting relationships, listening closely to patients’ concerns, and partnering with individuals and families to create personalized, achievable healthcare goals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Decker enjoys hiking in the Adirondack Mountains with her husband and dog, spending time with family, gardening, traveling, and exploring the many farmers markets throughout the Capital Region during the summer months.
