After graduation, I worked in medical research for several years, focusing on Huntington disease and PTSD, before pursuing a career in medicine. I attended medical school at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, I participated in a community-based initiative aimed at increasing COVID-19 vaccination rates in underserved Bronx communities. The project focused on improving health literacy and ensuring residents had access to accurate, evidence-based medical information.
My upbringing in the Bronx helped me to realize the importance of primary care in underserved communities, which consequently drew me to Family Medicine. I value Family Medicine’s breadth of practice and continuity of care, which will allow me to care for patients across all stages of lifeāfrom prenatal and pediatric care to adult and geriatric medicine. Family Medicine will provide me with the skills and versatility needed to address the healthcare needs of diverse and medically underserved communities and to make a meaningful impact on the lives of my patients.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children, who are at the center of my life. In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction, cooking, and tending to my vegetable garden.
