I grew up in central Washington state in a town called Yakima. I moved to Utah to complete my undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University, where I studied microbiology and Italian. I then returned home for medical school at Washington State University. I am excited for the move to Albany, because it will be my first time living on the East Coast!
I ultimately chose family medicine because of the opportunity to form impactful, long-lasting relationships with patients. I love that the scope of family medicine is so broad, because it allows family docs to address overlapping health concerns and to develop new skills that meet the needs of individual patients and their communities. Currently, my interests in family medicine are reproductive health, obstetrics, addiction medicine, and palliative care.
Outside of work, I try to spend as much time as possible with my partner, Alisha (who is a general surgery resident) and our dog, Freddie. I enjoy playing tennis and spending time in the outdoors hiking, skiing, and white-water rafting when I get the chance. To relax, I like cooking new recipes and keeping up with my favorite TV shows.
